Lunar eclipse on 10/12/2011 - saturday

On December 10 , saturday treated as total lunar eclipse. Saturday’s celestial  show is special since the next total lunar eclipse that would be visible over India is six years away, in 2017
On saturday moon apper the shadow of earth at 5.30 pm, moonrise would be around 6.15. and by the time the lunar orb would be visible over the horizon, it will be partial eclipse. Total eclipse last for 51 minuits from 7.36pm to 8.27pm

according to Arul Jerald Prakash, director, Kerala State Science and Technology Museum (KSSTM) maximum eclipse would be at 8.01 p m . The celestial show would come to an end at 9.48 p m. The eclipse would visible in asia and australia. Prakash said
“We would be able to see another total lunar eclipse only on August 21, 2017.There would be partial eclipses in between, though”
